Brand Redesign
August 2024

City Studio is an intergenerational art project that fosters community and brings people from the Bay Area together through the joy of creating. We wanted to create an identity that showcases how creativity can enliven and disrupt the rhythm of urban spaces.

The urban space is represented by the “City Grid”, and the energetic circles are the creativity that disrupts the monotony of these environments.

The concept of sticker bombing is essential to City Studio’s identity because it embodies its activist nature and provides a p straightforward way to implement the brand. Learn more about the brand HERE.

Process

The main focus of this project was to create something beautiful and imaginative that would also earn respect within the community. While art is often associated with playfulness, this project required thoughtful strategy and careful balance. Weekly meetings with Chris and Amy helped us stay aligned, ensuring we didn’t lean too childish or corporate in our direction.

The most challenging aspect was selecting colors that felt vibrant and expressive without appearing juvenile, while remaining functional across both digital and physical applications.
